Alexis is a veteran television and radio journalist, whose career has spanned on-air reporting roles at Bloomberg and CBS News. Alexis also spent nearly six years as an anchor and correspondent for CBS MarketWatch.
"The financial media has always been very transaction focused, and it's gone even further in that direction as the twittersphere has joined traditional news sources for many investors," said AIREX Media Executive Producer and Anchor Alexis Christoforous. "I was looking for a chance to go beyond reactive reporting, to get back to what attracted me to financial journalism in the first place: the chance to tell the stories of the people behind the companies and markets. I want to help them reach a truly global market with their stories. Those stories are often overlooked in today's real-time news environment, which is why I'm so excited to have a chance to cover them with AIREX Media."
AIREX Media will work with its vendors as they develop their premium and free content that offers insight into the people, developments, and opportunities that are shaping the financial markets. AIREX Media content will be made available through the AIREX™ Market, the first independent, online marketplace for financially actionable apps, information, and reports (Financial AIR™).
"Alexis has incredible perspective, having covered the spectacular growth of the stock market in the 1990s, the impact of the 9/11 attacks, the collapse and merger of major financial institutions, and many of the other highs and lows of Wall Street," said Airex Chief Executive Officer Stephen Kuhn. "Airex recently rolled out a new model for how financial content is found, sold, and consumed with the launch of the AIREX Market. We are looking to do something equally disruptive in the media space, and Alexis has the skill, the experience, and the passion to help us do that."
Alexis began her business news career at Bloomberg Television and Radio in 1994, where she was the anchor of the "Bloomberg Morning News" a nationally broadcast PBS program. Alexis was also Bloomberg's first journalist to report from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange.
