Fisher College Agreement Allows Students to Transfer Credits in Pursuit of a Degree
Smart Horizons Early Childhood/Early Intervention courses can now be applied to degree requirements at Fisher College
BOSTON, Aug. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- An articulation agreement between Fisher College and Smart Horizons program will make it easier for students to earn their degrees. This agreement will allow students enrolled in Early Childhood Education training courses through Smart Horizons to transfer up to six credits to be used in the pursuit of an associate's degree in Early Childhood or bachelor's degrees in Human Services/Early Childhood/Early Intervention.
Through the partnership, Fisher College will accept up to 120 clock hours from Smart Horizons students, with every 20 hours translating to one college credit. Those seeking an associate's degree will receive a maximum of three transfer credits; those pursuing a bachelor's degree will be eligible for up to six transfer credits.
The Early Childhood Educator Professional Series through Smart Horizons was developed to provide continuing early childhood education for child care professionals. The program is administered completely online, enabling childcare professionals access to materials at their convenience. All courses earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and meet the professional development requirements for a CDA Credential or CDA renewal.
"We are very pleased to have established a relationship that truly benefits the students enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program through Fisher College," said Dr. Thomas McGovern, president of Fisher College. "By removing barriers to progressive matriculation, we believe we can help fulfill the College's mission of expanding academic opportunity."
