First Michigan Bank to Change Name to Talmer Bank and Trust

TROY, Mich., April 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- First Michigan Bank today announced that it was changing its name to Talmer Bank and Trust.  Talmer Bank and Trust is a growing community-oriented depository institution serving the financial needs of individuals and businesses in communities throughout the Midwest.

The name Talmer is a derivation of the names of the grandfathers of the Bank's founders, Gary Torgow and David Provost.  They were determined to continue the legacies of their grandfathers---one a missionary in Asia and the other a prominent lawyer and author who help the underprivileged.  These two remarkable humanitarians never met but shared a common purpose---enriching the lives of their communities.  The grandsons honor that work with a Bank that combines their grandfathers' names, Talmage and Merzon, and continue their legacy of community, integrity and service.
