"I'm so excited to be screening in Australia again," says Holland. "I'm grateful that this film has been so well received." Holland is currently in Los Angeles, hard at work on her next stop-motion project, "Ticket to Hell."
Recently spotted at Grammy Award Winning Artist Ludacris' 2010 BET Awards Black Carpet Post-Party, Audrey Genevieve Holland has been creating buzz on sites from Exposay to Yahoo! Entertainment as a young, fashion-conscious, creative visionary. Not just another pretty face, her debut film "The Snow Princess" has played in over 25 film festivals worldwide, including Cannes Short Film Corner, L.A. Shorts Fest, and Fantastic Planet: Sydney Science Fiction & Fantasy Film Festival. That kind of attention for a new director is rare and one of the reasons Holland is being seen as one of the best young talents to keep an eye on. Holland studied filmmaking at New York University and art at the Disney Institute. While still working on her B.A. at Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey, she was hired to be part of the famed DreamWorks Animation SKG. Holland has worked on such feature films as Kung Fu Panda, Coraline, and last spring's How To Train Your Dragon.
"The Snow Princess" is a stop-motion animated tale in the style of Tim Burton, one of Holland's directorial influences, and is the story of young snow princess Gwyneira, who has spent an eternity dreaming of life in the World of Spring. "The Snow Princess" is available to stream at Indieflix.com: http://www.indieflix.com/film/the-snow-princess-30987/, and more information is available at www.myspace.com/thesnowprincess2008.
The 2010 Revelation Perth International Film Festival will screen "The Snow Princess" at 3 pm on Saturday, July 17, 2010. For more information, visit www.revelationfilmfest.org.
