Fieldglass Continued Impressive Customer Acquisition Pace in 2009 With 33 New Customers
The Company Expects Continued Growth in 2010 as Temporary Labor Demand Grows
CHICAGO, Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Fieldglass, Inc., provider of the leading unified platform for acquiring contingent workers, services and direct hires, today announced the company acquired 33 new customers in 2009, propelling its total number of customers to more than 100. The biggest driver of this growth has been the recognition among large global companies that the procurement of labor and services has become increasingly complex and needs to be better managed. One new customer chose Fieldglass because its solution allowed them to manage workers across North America, Asia and Europe using multiple program providers.
"We have been fortunate to achieve such strong growth in a difficult economic environment," said Jai Shekhawat, CEO, Fieldglass. "We designed our solution and operational infrastructure to serve the world's largest and most complex programs. It is gratifying to see that the market recognizes us as the logical choice for companies with a large number of workers and complex business requirements across many geographies."
Fieldglass also completed more than 50 expansions of existing customer programs, most into additional labor categories and new geographies. In spite of significant investments to support this growth, Fieldglass recorded the most profitable year in its history and continues to have the industry's strongest balance sheet. The firm also surpassed a few milestones in 2009 including one million users registered and over ten million timesheets processed.
Significant product initiatives in 2009 include Fieldglass Business Intelligence, a comprehensive suite to allow customers to uncover program data, identify trends and anomalies and benchmark against the industry.
Fieldglass expects to see similar levels of growth in 2010. Multiple research firms predict varying levels of contingent labor increases; one report from labor law firm Littler Mendelson reported temporary workers could account for as much as 50 percent of the entire workforce added after the recession. Staffing Industry Analysts predicts Vendor Managed System (VMS) usage will increase significantly. Results from their 2009 Staffing Buyers Survey suggest that 81 percent of respondents will be using a VMS solution by 2011.
Fieldglass plans to focus its efforts on further global expansion, ongoing strategic customer support and a continued focus on analytics in 2010.
