FGM Awarded $25 Million in Contracts from DoD to Support NCES Service Discovery, Metadata Services, and Enterprise Service Management Capabilities
RESTON, Va., Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The Department of Defense (DoD) has awarded FGM, Inc. multiple contracts over the next four years to design, develop, and maintain the Net-Centric Enterprise Services (NCES) Service Discovery, Metadata Services, and Enterprise Service Management capabilities.
Under these contracts, FGM will continue to support the development, refinement, and integration of key NCES Core Enterprise Services. FGM will be providing engineering, operations and maintenance, and customer support, while advocating improvements of capabilities to better enable the realization of the DoD Net-Centric Data and Services Strategies on the Global Information Grid (GIG). These capabilities form the foundation of the DoD’s premier suite of operational service-oriented architecture components that are being actively leveraged to make more information available to the warfighters and decision makers in order to make better decisions faster.
The goal of NCES is to enable the secure, agile, robust, dependable, interoperable data-sharing environment for DoD where warfighter, business, and intelligence users share knowledge on a global network. This type of environment ensures information superiority, accelerates decision-making, effective operations and net-centric transformation.
The Enterprise Services enable information owners and service providers to advertise and monitor services through an integrated Data Services Environment where consumers can find and use those services securely and efficiently. Enterprise Service Management enables providers and consumers to understand the operational status, and service level objectives of services and to monitor historical service utilization allowing program managers to make better investment decisions surrounding system enhancements.
FGM will continue to provide subject matter and operational expertise to advocate improvements to evolving capabilities and to further enable the realization of the Net-Centric Strategies.
FGM’s President and CEO, Scott Gessay, said: “FGM is very excited to have been a part of the NCES Program’s achievement of the full fielding decisions for the Enterprise Services. We look forward to continuing our support of the Enterprise Services in pursuit of the DoD’s Net-Centric objectives.
