NEW YORK, Nov. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- FENWICK KEATS Real Estate, a preeminent Manhattan based residential brokerage and management firm serving the greater New York City area currently celebrating its 25th anniversary, will be honored with a New York's Kindest Award given by Animal Care & Control of NYC (AC&C).
Fenwick Keats Real Estate co-founders, Rob Anzalone CEO and Jeff Wolk COO, will be presented with the award at AC&C's second annual New York's Kindest Dinner and Awards, a gala honoring some of New York City's most dedicated supporters committed to making a difference for NYC animals in need.
In addition to hosting regularly scheduled pet adoption events, earlier this year Fenwick Keats Real Estate co-donated with the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals ®) a Mobile Pet Adoption Center -- a state-of-the-art 26 ft. long vehicle that enables AC&C to bring shelter dogs and cats to previously unreachable New Yorkers looking to adopt throughout the five boroughs.
With approximately 30,000 cats, dogs, and other animals in need coming to AC&C each year, and not enough adopters coming to AC&C's buildings, the new Mobile Adoption Center now plays a vital role in promoting and increasing adoptions in more locations throughout NYC.
More than 300 cats and dogs from AC&C have been adopted at mobile adoption events since the Mobile Adoption Center launched in February.
"We knew given a chance, these wonderful pets would win over the hearts of New Yorkers," said Robert Anzalone, CEO/co-founder, of FENWICK KEATS Real Estate.
"By adopting a pet, donating to AC&C or purchasing tickets to this year's dinner and awards event, we collectively can make a difference helping pets find a permanent home," he added.
"We're delighted to recognize FENWICK KEATS Real Estate as one of "NY's Kindest" and to present them with this well-deserved award. Through their generosity AC&C was able to purchase its first mobile adoption center, connecting pets with loving homes throughout NYC," said Risa Weinstock, Executive Director of Animal Care & Control of NYC.
We're grateful to Robert Anzalone, Jeff Wolk, and everyone at this kindest of companies for supporting AC&C, building awareness about NYC's shelter animals, and helping to bring pets and people together," added Ms. Weinstock.
This year, the New York's Kindest Dinner & Awards will take place on:
December 5th, 6:30 PM
City Winery
155 Varick Street,
New York City 10013

AC&C's three full-service Care Centers in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Staten Island are open for adoptions seven days a week, but not everyone can easily make it to these locations to adopt. AC&C's facilities in the Bronx and Queens are Pet Receiving Centers, and do not serve adopters.
Groups or businesses interested in hosting a mobile adoption event are encouraged to contact [email protected].
