Feetz® Brings 3D Printing to DSW customers
Introducing the Feetz@DSW pop-up store
SAN DIEGO, and COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Feetz®, the first company to use 3D printing technology to make custom fit, sustainably made shoes, announces the launch of "Feetz@DSW" - a unique pop-up shop that produces custom 3D printed shoes using Feetz' proprietary technology. Customers will be able to see 3D printers in action and design 3D printed shoes in a first-of-its-kind retail experience. The pop-up shops will be available in DSW's NYC 34th St and SF Union square locations.
Feetz® was founded in 2013 by mathematician and entrepreneur Lucy Beard. The idea of personalized footwear came to Lucy during an unsuccessful shoe shopping experience. As she walked into a Starbucks and ordered a "grande mocha light with two pumps," Lucy realized that standardized sizing does not meet individual needs for fit and comfort. Feetz' proprietary SizeMeTM technology uses a mobile scanner to capture 5000 datapoints and 22 dimensions and produce a customized 3D printed shoe in less than 2 weeks. Feetz® shoes are made with recyclable materials.
