Fashion Week Cleveland 2016 Drives Mission of Fashion & Retail Education
CLEVELAND, April 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Fashion Week Cleveland (FWC) 2016 makes its presence known in the world of fashion, apparel and design by way of a series of events held in Cleveland, Ohio during the first week of May. Fashion Week Cleveland is a multifaceted, week-long experience including a "GlamJam" music fashion event, "Fashion on Film", a "Retail Showcase/Retail's Night Out!" and a "Night at the Museum" education program and museum party at The Cleveland History Center. The crescendo of the week is a black-tie dinner, reception and Designer Runway Shows on May 7th at The Arcade Cleveland. The week begins and ends at The Vault at The Metropolitan at The 9 on April 30th and May 7th.
At the May 7th events, Fashion Week Cleveland features the founder of New York Fashion Week, Fern Mallis. Mallis will be the keynote speaker at the FWC Speaker Series and is special guest at the Runway Shows. Mallis will also host "Fashion Lives: Fashion Icons with Fern Mallis"—a book signing. Mallis led the movement to expand fashion week events to cities such as Los Angeles, Miami, Berlin and Mumbai. She served as executive director of The Council of Fashion Designers of America, and was Senior Vice President of IMG Fashion from 2001 to 2010. Mallis' participation in Fashion Week Cleveland 2016 is a testament to FWC's national and international presence.
