Fairfax Chamber Announces 2011 Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Awards Winners
VIENNA, Va., July 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce (Fairfax Chamber) has announced the winners of the 2011 Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Awards. The awards were presented at the group's Annual Chairman's Luncheon & Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Awards on June 29. Nearly 600 awards finalists, honorees, elected officials and members of the business community were on hand for the event.
"Today's award recipients and honorees have exhibited the highest levels of leadership and corporate social responsibility," said Fairfax Chamber President & CEO Jim Corcoran. "Their work and dedication furthers our business community and the entire Northern Virginia region. We are proud to honor these very deserving recipients for their good work."
Award recipients include:
- Capital One Bank – Corporate Citizen of the Year (Large Business)
- CPS Professional Services, LLC – Corporate Citizen of the Year (Small Business)
- Tony Jimenez, President & CEO, MicroTech – Executive Leader of the Year
- Shelter House – Non-Profit of the Year
- Helios HR – Woman-Owned Business of the Year
The James M. Rees Award, selected by past Chamber chairmen for dedication to the Chamber and the community, was presented to Dr. Alan G. Merten, president of George Mason University, and Dan Bannister, government contracting industry icon and longtime CEO and chairman of DynCorp.
NOVA EXEC Magazine announced the top three InNOVAtors in Northern Virginia:
- Jonathan Browning, Volkswagen Group of America
- Scott and Becky Harris, Catoctin Creek Distillery
- David Guernsey, Guernsey Office Products
The NOVAForward Award, which recognizes exceptional work to move Northern Virginia businesses and the community forward, was presented to Bobbie Greene Kilberg, president & CEO of the Northern Virginia Technology Council.
The Arts Council of Fairfax County presented the Jinx Hazel Award for dedication to the arts to Joe Ritchey, Principal, Prospective, Inc.
Each of the Corporate Citizenship Awards honors businesses' leadership and community service. Winners are nominated and then selected by an independent selection committee.
Founded in 1925, the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce develops, encourages and promotes the economic vitality, quality of life and political interests of Fairfax County businesses and citizens.
