FactCheckArmenia Applauds Turkish Diplomats' March To Remember And Honor Colleagues Slain By Armenian Terrorists
WASHINGTON, April 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Upon learning the news that a group of retired diplomats from the Turkish Foreign Ministry marched last weekend to honor their colleagues who were assassinated by radical Armenian terrorists in the 1970's and 1980's, former Congressman Dan Burton issued the following statement:
"It is important to remember the more than 40 Turkish diplomats, government employees, and their family members who were slain by Armenian groups just a few decades ago. As Armenian groups today push to ensure that we only honor and remember lost Armenian lives, it is more important than ever to highlight these victims of senseless violence perpetrated by those who today purport to seek justice and recognition.
"As Armenians seek to place the blame for a century-old tragedy squarely on modern states that did not exist 100 years ago, they cannot do so without acknowledging and apologizing for the atrocities committed by their own brethren within our lifetimes."
FactCheckArmenia.com, a website dedicated to exposing Armenian distortions and hypocrisies, has dedicated a page to the assassinated diplomats, available at http://factcheckarmenia.com/armenian_terrorism.html.
Representative Burton is an advisor to FactCheckArmenia.
