- Lean Facility Design – January 10, 2017

Lean Facility Design
This engaging seminar shows participants how using lean design principles enables health care organizations to create and redesign better buildings and spaces, improve quality and safety, reduce staff burden, and increase patient and staff satisfaction.
Participants receive a tour and analysis of lean facility design at Virginia Mason, and they leave with an understanding of how lean methods help health care leaders reduce waste and exceed staff and patient expectations.
Advanced Lean Training
This intensive learning experience uses hands-on exercises to enable participants to deepen their lean learning, refine their skills and build the capacity to teach, coach and mentor others in the tools and methods of a lean management system. Training is conducted over two sessions (January 24-27 and March 28-30).
Components of this workshop include
- Analysis of lean implementation at Virginia Mason and Toyota
- Advanced training in the methods and tools of a lean management system
- Hands-on exercises using Virginia Mason's lean tools
- Teach-back sessions to demonstrate an understanding of lean methods and tools, as well as an ability to teach others
