LOS ANGELES, Sept. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The former Los Angeles Stock Exchange, one of the city's most remarkable architectural landmarks, will open its doors this Wednesday Sept 29th from 6pm -10pm at 618 S. Spring St. in Los Angeles to event industry professionals hosting "BizBash's Fall Revival Celebrating the Re-Opening of a 'Lost' Art Deco Treasure." The exclusive opening to the event industry will be followed by Exchange LA's official grand opening to the public in November with a series of A-list nightlife events.
Those attending the invitation only event this Wednesday will have the opportunity to see that through meticulous planning and over $5 million retrofitting and restoration, Exchange LA's owners have managed to maintain the building's historical and architectural integrity, yet incorporating top-tier technology, offering state-of-the-art AV capabilities and design, while preserving the building's one-of-a-kind Art Deco character and original historic elements.
The event hosted in conjunction with BizBash, the leading trade media for the event industry will feature custom and delectable catering by LA Spice, desserts by Magnolia Bakery which recently opened in Los Angeles and an open bar. On the main event space and dance floor, dubbed the "Trading Room," live entertainment with two shows by Dream World Cirque, a collective of circus performers featuring acts of contortion, aerial silk and hoops, trapeze and acrobatics will take place with music by DJ Avi D. One part nightlife destination, one part special events venue, Exchange LA is available for private party buyouts, sophisticated nightlife and promotional events, live entertainment, corporate events, business conferences, and more. Throughout the venue, room names are an homage to the building's storied past, including the main event space and dance floor, dubbed the "Trading Room;" the reservation-only mezzanine level, or "Federal Reserve;" and the private fourth floor area, titled "The Board Room." The entire venue is 25,000 square-feet and includes four stories, four bars, and private access to The Board Room via a restored vintage elevator—complete with a 30's-style clad elevator operator.
A few of Exchange LA's notable preserved elements include 12-foot solid bronze doors at the entrance, weighing 1,400 pounds apiece; original crown molding; frosted glass Art Deco chandeliers; and an antique stock trading monitor that was used to display the buying and selling of stocks for on looking traders.
The Trading Floor, whose decorated hand-painted ceiling soars 40 feet above the wood floor, features a stage for DJ or live band performances. Behind this stage is a massive 9-foot by 16-foot video screen, equipped with 1.5 million-plus LED lights that will offer a high-resolution image unlike any other in the city. A state-of-the-art Funktion-One sound system, also only available at Exchange LA, provides unsurpassed sound quality, while cutting-edge lighting from acclaimed lighting designer Stephen Lieberman ((TAO and Rain in Las Vegas, Crobar in New York and Chicago) of SJ Lighting provides customizable ambiance for any event.
