Exal Corporation Names Michael Mapes as Chief Executive Officer
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio, Jan. 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Exal Corporation, the world's largest manufacturer of impact extruded aluminum containers, announced that Michael Mapes has been named Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the organization effective January 19th.
"Michael Mapes is an accomplished executive with demonstrated strategic leadership in the packaging sector and a successful track record of driving business growth and profitability on a global scale. Mr. Mapes brings significant packaging experience to his new role at Exal. While at Greif, Mr. Mapes spent over 10 years in various leadership roles, most recently, as VP of Global Strategy and previously as Division President & CEO Greif Flexibles, responsible for forming and growing Greif's flexible packaging business. Throughout his career, he has led rigid, paper, and flexible packaging businesses. Prior to joining Greif, Mr. Mapes worked as a consultant for McKinsey & Company. Previously he worked at one of Bain Capital's portfolio companies on an operational and financial restructuring.
