Enviance Grows Market Leadership, Adds Capabilities Through Actio Acquisition
Strategic acquisition of complementary EH&S software provider will broaden product offerings and build additional market share
CARLSBAD, Calif., June 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Enviance, a leader in cloud-based Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) management software, today announced its acquisition of Actio Corporation. Based in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Actio is a cloud-based EH&S software provider that offers innovative solutions for materials and supply chain management, and is renowned for its creation of the first substance-based materials management software solution. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The Actio acquisition will strengthen Enviance's ability to deliver a single, comprehensive EH&S solution. Analyzing supply chain data, and leveraging embedded workflows, is critical to accomplishing a holistic view of materials tracking, product stewardship and workplace safety. With one fully integrated system, users will have a higher level of confidence in the security, scalability and strategic value of their EH&S data management system—one traditionally not available through a single partner.
"Enviance's acquisition of Actio reinforces our leadership as the most comprehensive, and cloud-based, solution across EH&S," said David Muse, CEO of Enviance. "Bringing Actio into the Enviance portfolio builds upon our legacy of making the complex clear through unsurpassed data management, robust functionality and intense focus on our client community." Through this acquisition, Enviance anticipates broader market penetration and an expanded offering for the 650,000+ users already leveraging the Enviance platform.
Servicing many of the top Fortune 50 companies, Actio, which was named a "Cool Vendor" by Gartner in 2012, provides a number of other EH&S functions outside of materials safety and supply chain management, including Globally Harmonized Systems (GHS), chemical management, lab inventory and other solutions. Actio enables users to unleash the power of compliance data, putting insights into actions. The company has earned many loyal users through its easy-to-use products and continual innovation over the years.
Enviance and Actio share more than a complementary product suite—they also share a customer-centric approach that puts each client at the heart of what they do. Both solutions are highly configurable to a user's operation; both companies provide clients with a dedicated professional, committed to that client's long-term success and satisfaction; and clients of both companies can be confident this acquisition will leave them with a stronger foundation upon which to build more powerful, efficient EH&S programs.
Enviance is majority-owned by Battery Ventures, a global investment firm.
