DALLAS, April 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Entrust, Inc., a world leader in securing digital identities and information, today announced it has become the primary sponsor of the TruSpeed Porsche GT3 Cup car and a secondary sponsor of the PrivacyStar Porsche GT3 Cup Car in the 2011 World Challenge® Championships. This is Entrust's first racing sponsorship.
The World Challenge features exciting 50-minute sprints by top-notch drivers and teams, and does not include scheduled pit stops or driver changes. It is the only North American sports car series featuring a standing start and popular cars from the world's leading manufacturers racing head-to-head. The 2011 schedule runs from March 25 to October 1, and will be held at racetracks across the country.
"We are thrilled to be a part of the World Challenge series and to be partnering with a passionate, competitive team like TruSpeed Motorsports," said General Manager SSL and Chief Marketing Officer David Rockvam. "Looking ahead, we see this sponsorship as an outstanding avenue to connect with our customers, drive sales, and showcase our brand and product offerings to a broader audience."
The No. 46 Entrust car will include a large Entrust SSL security seal on the hood of the car, an Entrust logo on the car body, and the company website on the spoiler.
The owner of TruSpeed Racing, Rob Morgan, will drive the Entrust car. Morgan has competed in hundreds of professional sport car races throughout his career and has raced everything from Chevy pickup trucks to Ferrari's. Morgan has amassed a number of Top 10 finishes in his career, including wins in the 2002 Daytona Finale and a 2002 Team Championship in Grand Am.
The No.45 PrivacyStar Porsche GT3 Cup Car will be piloted by Patrick Long, a Porsche factory driver and a rising star in American sports car racing. Long has amassed 20 victories in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) and is a three-time ALMS GT2 Driver's Champion.
"I'm honored to have Entrust on board with our team as a sponsor," said Morgan. "I'm confident that we will have a winning partnership both on and off the track."
