Entrepreneur Cindy Whitehead Announces Her New Venture, The Pink Ceiling
Former CEO of Sprout Pharmaceuticals responsible for breaking through with the first FDA-approved drug for women's sexual desire has formed new company, The Pink Ceiling, to propel other breakthroughs for women
RALEIGH, N.C., April 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Pink Ceiling, launching today, is a unique all-women team formed to work alongside mission-driven companies with novel solutions for challenges affecting women. Investments will be made if The Pink Ceiling team becomes an extension of the partner company working to bring their advance to market.
"My driving passion is identifying real solutions that can become catalysts for meaningful change for women," said Cindy Whitehead, The Pink Ceiling founder and CEO. "Whether these advances break down social barriers or bust through ceilings to create new categories, our goal is to fuel the solutions that put the power of choice in women's hands. That was the mission of Sprout with Addyi and this new venture allows me to continue to do the work I love."
The Pink Ceiling's first partnership is with Undercover Colors, a Raleigh-based startup that is developing a wearable nail technology to detect date rape drugs in spiked drinks, providing a powerful tool at the fingertips of women. Undercover Colors was developed in 2014 by four engineering students at North Carolina State University. The company has been focused on the research and development of its technology to date.
Businesses interested in working with Cindy and her team submit a "pink pitch" for consideration. Pitches aligned with the mission of The Pink Ceiling will be considered for investment and strategic support.
