A Nazi-themed horror movie starring Geraldine Chaplin, daughter of the legendary Charlie Chaplin, Panzer Chocolate is a pioneer project that joins the film and audience like never before. Designed as a cross-media narrative from the beginning, Panzer Chocolate combines film, video game, novel, comic and mobile interactivity to tell its story, providing viewers with a compelling and interactive experience before, during and even after the movie.
Unlike most cinematic experiences where moviegoers are asked to turn off their phones, viewers will be encouraged to be on their mobile devices throughout the movie. They will be asked to download a free app, which uses Enswers' audio recognition technology, to enhance their movie experience.
The level of engagement will be unlike other interactive films. The second screen app will allow viewers to interact with the characters during the screening and to access several transmedia platforms that complement and extend the story. Not only will the viewers decide on the course of events in the screen, but they will also have an active role in the movie, going so far as to being responsible for the life or death of the protagonist. Once the movie is over, viewers will also have the opportunity to see an alternate ending on the app.
Panzer Chocolate is the latest project to utilize Enswers' ACR solution for second screen entertainment. Through use of Enswers' audio fingerprinting technology, the smart device can recognize the content source based on digital fingerprints and sync the device to the precise moment of the content. Enswers' ACR technology enables accurate identification and synchronization between interactive applications and live, recorded, or on-demand content.
Panzer Chocolate follows a group of young archeologists who discover a WWII bunker during their search for Nazi relics. They soon realize that the abandoned bunker turns out to be a deadly trap and find themselves running for their lives. Directed by Robert Figueras, the movie stars Geraldine Chaplin, Melina Matthews, Ariadna Cabrol, Mark Schardan, Tony Corvillo, and Richard Felix. Panzer Chocolate will premiere at the Gijon International Film Festival on November 22.
