Endue and Project Peanut Butter announce new partnership
SAN FRANCISCO and ST. LOUIS, April 8, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Endue, a leading organic premium baby clothing brand, and Project Peanut Butter (PPB), a non-profit focused on child malnutrition, announced a new partnership today to fight global malnutrition. For every item of clothing endue sells, online or through retail partners, endue will donate a portion of the proceeds to Project Peanut Butter to feed a malnourished child for a day.
Malnutrition is a global problem that impacts millions of children each year. It kills more than twice as many children as HIV/AIDS and malaria combined. Yet, there is a cost-effective and proven solution that has the potential to eradicate severe malnutrition. Dr. Mark Manary, professor at Washington University, pediatrician and founder of PPB, helped devise the formula and conducted the initial clinical trials with ready-to-use therapeutic food, or RUTF, which is now recognized by the World Health Organization, the United Nations, and the World Food Program as the standard of care for severely malnourished kids.
With this new partnership, Project Peanut Butter has agreed to use 100% of the donations from endue to purchase RUTF to feed malnourished children in countries where the need is most dire. Dr. Manary said of the collaboration, "This is a great partnership. Not only does endue have a fantastic product, but a great social mission as well. With this partnership, Project Peanut Butter will receive a steady donation stream to help us achieve our goal – which is to eliminate childhood malnutrition worldwide."
In addition to making luxuriously soft organic baby clothing, endue also wants to help children around the world grow, succeed and thrive. This is why endue has made donating life-saving food to at-risk children a core pillar of the company. Gary Hsueh, one of the co-founders of endue, said of the partnership, "We are so excited to make a difference together. This is what our ethos, 'Rock the Cradle, Change the World', is all about." Nathaniel Faggioli, another co-founder of endue, agrees, "I can't think of a better organization to partner with than Project Peanut Butter. Dr. Manary revolutionized the treatment of malnutrition; this is literally the single best partnership we could dream of."
