ElectionDayTeaParty.com Congratulates Congressional Freshman
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Jan 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- (http://www.myprgenie.com) -- ElectionDayTeaParty.com today extends a message of congratulations to the incoming freshman of the 112th Congress, and in particular, the 29 men and women that were featured on the EDTP Top 50.
"We intentionally selected close races," said Lorie Medina, a co-organizer of the project. "To think that we won 29 out of 50 is amazing. We're thrilled to have contributed to those victories. Of all the individuals, clubs or groups that had candidate watch-lists and endorsements, EDTP surpassed them all."
"Volunteers across the country worked tirelessly to support and elect these new Representatives," said co-organizer Christina Botteri. "We have high hopes and expectations that they will live up to the promises they made to uphold the core principles of fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government, and free markets."
Botteri continued, "They have a big job ahead of them, and we understand that some of the decisions they face will be unpopular. When those tough votes come, we want them to know that we are with them, so long as they are with us."
Ambassador John Bolton said, "With a total of 63 newly elected Representatives in the House and six new Senators, the Republicans have an opportunity and an obligation to stand up to the Obama Agenda that has resulted in a less safe America, with staggering trade imbalances, fewer jobs, and trillions in debt and deficit."
The Election Day Tea Party project was launched September 20, 2010 by the Nationwide Tea Party Coalition, in partnership with former United States Ambassador to the UN, John Bolton. The project's website, ElectionDayTeaParty.com identified the 50 close contests for seats in the House of Representatives where an individual's efforts were needed to help challengers win their elections. EDTP was the first project of its kind to channel resources directly to the campaigns. People learned about congressional races outside of their district, and were encouraged to connect directly with the candidates. Through the EDTP's 'Cash-for-Candidates' initiative, visitors to the site could donate directly to their candidate(s) of choice.
"The overwhelming success of Election Day Tea Party would not have been possible without the co-operation and participation of volunteer organizers, donors, and candidates," said co-organizer Michael Patrick Leahy. "We're excited to see what happens in the 112th Congress, and look forward to launching EDTP 2012." http://www.electiondayteaparty.com/
