DENVER, Feb. 12, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- For eight years, Partners in Prevention has helped couples nationwide to re-establish marital well-being through the Intimate Partner Abuse Treatment Program.
Far too often people in abusive relationships reach out for help and go from the frying pan to the fire. They can end up in marital therapy, which invariably exacerbates the dysfunctional condition within their relationship. Or, they can throw the baby out with the bath and end up in the hands of divorce court.
Partners in Prevention offers help to those genuinely wanting to save their marriage by changing the underlying abusive dynamics that erode the integrity of one or both parties. We focus on the subtle communication patterns that support a balance in control across the relationship. In so doing, we are able to help physicians, lawyers and other varied professionals previously in denial around this highly sensitive issue of domestic abuse.
Our consistent results have inspired us to bring this intervention to couples worldwide wanting to keep their young family or long history intact.
People benefiting from the Intimate Partner Abuse Treatment Program say…
- When the heat is on, I have options that do not inflame what's already ignited.
- When she says "No," …I hear her with understanding, rather than with my frustration or resentment.
- His (or her) negativity is not mine to change, nor can I. That frees me and us.
- I do not need her compliance and submission to trust her love. Her will is hers to control, not mine.
- We have re-engaged what brought us together in the first place and that makes us want to keep our marriage alive.
The Intimate Partner Abuse Treatment Program is provided by psychologists specializing in domestic violence treatment. The intervention is offered individually and conjointly as domestic abuse counseling in the context of relationship therapy. All sessions are conducted by telephone/Zoom, making the Intimate Partner Abuse Treatment Program available worldwide.
