E-ImageData Announces Award Of U.S. Patent On Digital Microform Imaging Apparatus And Patent Lawsuit Against ST Imaging
HARTFORD, Wis., Nov. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- E-ImageData announced today that the United States Patent and Trademark Office issued an additional U.S. Patent to e-ImageData relating to its digital microform imaging technology (U.S. Patent No. 9,179,019). E-ImageData's portfolio of patents protect the technology used in its ScanPro microform scanners, including the newly released ScanPro i9300, which are used in the world's most prestigious libraries and private companies.
"E-ImageData takes pride in its constant innovation and commitment to keeping its customers at the cutting edge of digital scanner technology," says James Westoby, president of e-ImageData. "In this continuing endeavor, we consider it our responsibility to protect our intellectual property so that we can continue to move forward in providing our customers with the most dynamic products on the market." In 2012, e-ImageData sued a competitor and two of its distributors for infringement of U.S. Patent 8,269,890. That litigation was settled after the competitor and its distributors discontinued the sale of the accused infringing products.
On November 3, 2015, e-ImageData filed patent infringement claims. The claims were asserted in an amended complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, case no. 15-cv-658-rtr, against Digital Check Corp. d/b/a/ ST Imaging, Northbrook, IL.
E-Image believes that the ST Imaging Viewscan scanners infringe newly issued U.S. Patent 9,179,019, and previously issued U.S. Patent 8,537,279. E-Image intends to vigorously enforce its patent rights against ST Imaging and its resellers, and will continue to enforce its intellectual property rights against any competitor e-Image identifies as practicing its patented technology.
E-ImageData is the industry leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of micrographic equipment. The ScanPro line of products is the equipment of choice in the world's most prestigious libraries and private institutions.
