Dynamics Payments and CardFlight Partner to Help Merchants in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands Get Back in Business
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, Sept. 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- CardFlight, a mobile point of sale (POS) technology provider and Dynamics Payments, a leading provider of credit card payment processing solutions with extensive operations in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, announced that they are working together to help the business owners affected by the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria get back in business quickly by accepting payments on the go from their mobile devices.
Hurricane Maria struck Puerto Rico and neighboring islands last Wednesday, and has left the island with damage that will take many months to rebuild from. Currently, much of the island is without power and telecommunications, affecting the daily lives of millions of people. Thousands of small businesses who use Dynamics Payments have been closed in the aftermath of Maria. Given their focus on serving businesses in the area, Dynamics estimates that over half of their merchants have been impacted. "Our hearts go out to everyone who was affected by Hurricane Maria and we want to do our part to aid in the recovery," said Derek Webster, Founder and CEO at CardFlight. "We're pleased to be working with Dynamics Payments to help small businesses, their customers, and the communities they live in."
CardFlight and Dynamics are partnering by waiving monthly and setup fees for SwipeSimple, so that businesses in affected areas can have the ability to process credit card payments from any supported mobile device or web browser. Additionally, Dynamics is pre-enrolling their merchants, so that they will have an immediately-available solution for taking payments as cellular communications are restored throughout the islands. "Right now, cellular data is the one of the only ways to stay connected," said Aaron Rich, Director of Operations at Dynamics. "CardFlight has given mobility to merchants in need, and we're grateful for their partnership with us and generosity during this time of serious disruption in our local economy."
SwipeSimple is a turnkey mobile payment acceptance platform that includes a mobile application for iOS and Android, and a back-office reporting portal for merchants to take payments and manage their business. The solution supports both key entered and card present transactions, and Dynamics will provide merchants with an EMV chip card reader as soon as it is feasible to do so. SwipeSimple has a simple merchant onboarding process that allows resellers to quickly onboard merchants in real-time. Given the unprecedented damage caused by Hurricane Maria, Dynamics and CardFlight are going one step further by pre-enrolling eligible Dynamics merchants and waiving setup and monthly fees.
