SAN FRANCISCO, June 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Drivemode, the mobile-based automotive technology company, announced today a new integration with roadside assistance technology provider Urgent.ly. Through this integration, Drivemode's active users will have in-app access to Urgent.ly's fast and safe roadside assistance. This powerful convergence of the automotive and high-tech sectors grants drivers access to connectivity features, the latest apps, and all of the technology in their phones as though it is embedded in the car, allowing their focus to remain on the road.
This is Drivemode's first partnership since it announced its $6.5 million series A funding round, led by Panasonic corporation. Urgent.ly, which provides roadside assistance technology through both branded and white label products, will be featured within Drivemode's app, alongside other partners such as Spotify, WhatsApp, and Waze.
"We're thrilled to now be able to offer our users the very best in roadside assistance," said Yo Koga, co-founder and CEO of Drivemode. "With Urgent.ly we're expanding the level of services drivers can access within our product, furthering our mission to provide a safe and distraction-free way to enjoy full connectivity while behind the wheel."
"Drivemode democratizes connected-car technology, bringing an advanced feature set to the mass market, regardless of the car you drive," said Urgent.ly CEO and co-founder Chris Spanos. "Drivemode customers will now have instant access to the most advanced roadside assistance solution in the market. Urgent.ly and Drivemode are giving everyone with a smartphone access to a premium driving experience."
Based in Silicon Valley, Drivemode is an Android app created by former Zipcar and Tesla innovators. Designed to change the way consumers interact with their cars, Drivemode's "no-look" interface allows users to focus on the road ahead, not their phone, while easily accessing music, navigation, calls, texts and now roadside assistance.
Urgent.ly delivers roadside assistance service, products, and technology through:
- Premier global automotive, insurance, mapping, and parking brands by providing unmatched roadside assistance service to their customers.
- Roadside assistance professionals who can quickly see and respond to jobs closest to them, increasing their revenue and profitability.
- Direct-to-consumer, on-demand service to drivers at their moment of need – all without subscription or membership fee. Urgent.ly lets drivers track their service provider's progress and ETA in real-time on their smartphone.
Both companies are dramatically improving the driving experience and are recognized as thought leaders and innovators in the connected car revolution.
