DreamField Productions Presents 'A View From Earth 4' Earth Day Celebration to Benefit Tigers for Tomorrow Exotic Animal Preserve
COLLINSVILLE, Ala., March 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Donnie James is in the habit of putting his money where his mouth is when it comes to proving that dreams do come true! Owner of James and Company Antique Timbers and Flooring, a business that reclaims, refurbishes and sells old wood from buildings and other structures, he describes himself as "an ancient hippie environmentalist." He and his wife Roxanne are about to present their 4th annual "A View from Earth" music festival and celebration of Earth Day. For the Jameses, it's a perfect marriage of their passion for music and their interest in the environment. "The emphasis on all we do," says Donnie, "including the music, is to be good stewards of the land. Roxanne and I think all of us need to understand that recycling and 'green living' are our responsibility."
"A View from Earth" will take place on Friday and Saturday, April 16 and 17, at the DreamField Productions Outdoor Theater, located between Fort Payne and Collinsville, Alabama. The "Dream" in DreamField is an acronym for "Donnie and Roxanne's Environmental Awareness Movement." Situated on 40 rolling acres of pasture, the facility is a combination recording studio and performance stage. The structure is built from reclaimed wood from his wood business. "The acoustics are incredible and the view from the valley is absolutely beautiful! We have created the perfect place for an outdoor music event!"
Day 1, Friday, will be devoted to country music, and will be headlined by Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives. Stuart, a multi-instrumentalist, performer, and songwriter, received the 2005 American Music Association's Lifetime Achievement Award for Performing. Also included in the lineup will be Native American award-winning performer Michael Jacobs, The Jeremy Lesley Band, and The Uptown Lowmen. Gates open at 4pm.
Day 2, Saturday, will be for rockers. The featured performers will be the Atlanta-based heavy rock group Dangerous New Machine. Also performing that day will be Downstream, Rearview Ghost, Dayzd, The Handlers and Beyond Human. Donnie James' own group, the Brother Tree Band, will also perform. Gates open at noon. In addition to the music, there will be activities for children: a bounce house and train rides - and a special visit from some of our animal friends at Tigers for Tomorrow. Food vendors will also be available. It is an outdoor event - so bring your chairs, blankets, and umbrellas! No pets, please! Advance tickets are available online at http://www.dreamfieldproductions.net.
Proceeds for the event will be donated to Tigers for Tomorrow Exotic Animal Preserve, a last stop, non-profit sanctuary for exotic animals (especially tigers), lions, bears and other big cats, located between Collinsville and Attalla, Alabama.
