Dr. Nivine Megahed Appointed 11th President of National-Louis University
CHICAGO, March 10 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- National-Louis University's Board of Trustees announced this week the appointment of Dr. Nivine Megahed as the 11th president in the Chicago-based institution's 124-year history.
Dr. Megahed, president of Kendall College in Chicago since 2006, has served as president of both IMPAC University and the University of Sarasota in Florida as well as group vice president for Education Management and Kaplan, where she was responsible for 12 to 25 campuses with up to 15,000 students. She was campus dean at the American School of Professional Psychology in Hawaii and a faculty member at the Georgia School of Professional Psychology. Egyptian by birth, she grew up in New York State and has a doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Rochester.

Dr. Megahed succeeds Dr. George H. Litman who has served as interim president since July 2009 and who will continue in an important leadership role with the university. The appointment culminates a nine-month national search conducted by a university-wide committee representing faculty, staff, students, alumni and trustees, assisted by Isaacson, Miller, a recruiting firm that specializes in higher education.
