Downtown Indianapolis Residents and Visitors Benefit From Verizon Wireless Network Enhancements
New Cell Sites Mean Clearer Reception, Fewer Dropped Calls
INDIANAPOLIS, June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon Wireless has activated two new cell sites in downtown Indianapolis, improving coverage at four of the city's most popular sports and tourist destinations for summer travelers as well as the city's largest urban university campus.
The new cell sites will enable more customers to use their wireless phones to make calls; send and receive email and text, picture and video messages; access the Internet; view high-quality videos; and download music, games and ringtones, while enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls.
The cell sites improve voice and data coverage at the following popular tourist destinations in the city that attract millions of visitors a year as well as one at of the city's busiest urban campuses:
- Indianapolis Zoo
- White River State Park
- Lucas Oil Stadium
- Victory Field
- Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis campus

Since 2000, Verizon Wireless has invested $1.06 billion on improvements to its wireless network in Indiana. This year, the company will spend $57.4 million on its Indiana network.
