"Here Sound Experience" Series Expands with Co-hosted Event at Hans Zimmer's Remote Control Productions
NEW YORK, Feb. 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Doppler Labs today announced the first shipment of the Here Active Listening System™, the first in-ear audio system that uses two wireless buds and a smart phone app to let users instantly control and personalize their live audio environment. With initial production limited to 10,000 units plus an exclusive offer for Coachella attendees, recipients of the first run of Here buds will include artists, musicians, partners, investors and the Kickstarter community. Additionally, select members from Here's public waitlist, already in excess of 30,000, will receive units as well.
To celebrate this launch, Doppler Labs co-hosted an intimate "Sound Experience" in Santa Monica with Remote Control Productions, the film score company run by veteran composer Hans Zimmer. Introduced by Mr. Zimmer, musicians, including Charles Yang, Michael Thurber, Mike Einzinger of Incubus, and Vulpeck, curated a live performance for Doppler Labs partners and investors that matched live music with specific Here features to demonstrate how audio augmented reality (AAR) can enhance any live listening experience.
News of the first shipment follows Doppler Labs' recent announcement of their exclusive partnership with Goldenvoice, which will integrate the Here Active Listening System into the fabric of the 2016 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, with custom stage presets and onsite demos available to everyone attending the event. By creating Here Optimized Stages, festival attendees can act as their own personal sound mixer during Coachella, enabling them to experience music in a way that's never happened before at a live event.
"Here is not a headphone," said Fritz Lanmam, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Doppler Labs. "It's a computer for the ears – and the first app we built is designed for enhancing live music experiences. With this shipment we will mark a milestone in both AR and VR as we push the boundaries of what it means to wear tech. This is just the tip of the iceberg of what Here can eventually do."
