MILWAUKEE, May 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Advancing its leadership in Wisconsin's bioscience industry, Dohmen today announced it will expand its presence in Milwaukee and recently purchased 215 N. Water Street, a historic, five-story office building in the Third Ward. Dohmen and its portfolio of companies each serve a unique role in pursuit of an efficient, effective and easy to use health experience. Dohmen's corporate team will operate from the new location, focused on bringing new capabilities to the life science and health markets.
"Each Dohmen business exists to improve the state of healthcare. From helping drug and device clients find more effective ways of reaching the patients they serve, to designing innovative new technology that improves the patient experience, our goal is greater efficiency," said Dohmen CEO Cynthia LaConte. "Our new Water Street building sets the stage for our corporate team to find new ways to realize our vision."
The fifth generation family-owned business has its roots in the Third Ward, beginning in 1858 when Fredrick W. Dohmen opened an apothecary on Water Street. Today, the company offers intelligent outsourcing and technology solutions and software to more than 600 health and life science clients through its corporate portfolio of companies.
In addition to Dohmen's corporate team, the Dohmen Investment Group, a division of Dohmen, will operate from the Water Street location, fueling the next generation of growth by making long-term, strategic investments with partners who share the company's passion to disrupt traditional healthcare models in search of greater efficiency. The Dohmen Company Foundation, focused on finding social justice through health equity, will also be managed from the corporate headquarters.
With the recent building purchase, Dohmen now owns and operates more than one million square-feet of space in seven states, including 81,000 square-feet in the Third Ward. Dohmen Life Science Services, a service provider for drug and device companies, is headquartered in a 42,000 square-foot facility on 190 N. Milwaukee Street. Red Arrow Labs, a provider of transformative technology for life science and health companies, will move into a nearby 12,000 square foot building at 200 N. Jefferson Street this summer.
Since 2009, Dohmen has leased the third and fourth floors of 215 N. Water Street, and now as owners, will continue to share it with the retail and commercial businesses currently occupying space.
