Devigi Celebrates First Year Delivering High-Quality, Fashionable Workout Apparel Designed to Make Women Look and Feel Great, Reducing Muffin Tops and Smoothing Post-Baby Bellies
Founder Nadine Gelberg created the made in the USA line because she didn't like Lululemon fit
PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- As we prepare for the holiday season, Devigi celebrates its first anniversary of delivering high-quality, fashionable workout apparel made in the USA to women across the country. In one year, Devigi has built a loyal customer base in more than 40 states and Canada. It continues to receive rave reviews for comfort, fit, and style. Devigi is sold online at www.devigi.com, at select gyms, and at retail pop-up shops.
Devigi was created by Nadine Gelberg, a Ph.D. in sport technology policy and fitness buff, because she didn't like the tight Lululemon fit or the muffin top the pants created on her size two frame. "Even though I am small, I have issues with the way my body looks in fitness apparel," said Gelberg. "Most bodies, regardless of size, are not perfect and I wanted to create a line of clothing that would be comfortable and forgiving for a variety of shapes and sizes, unlike other brands on the market."
According to Gelberg, activewear is a wardrobe staple and industry sales have increased almost 9.4% to $14.2 billion last year, up from $13 billion the year before. Furthermore, she noted at the gym, people see friends, neighbors, and colleagues so they want to look good. And, because many remain in their workout clothes afterwards to run errands, they want something flattering, not revealing.
"We are encouraged by the response from our customers. One mentioned she looked like she lost 10 ten pounds dressed in Devigi," said Gelberg. "Others have said the hoodie, our signature piece, is their most cozy, cute and favorite article of clothing. Our pants, with a double waistband that holds in and smooths the belly, have been hailed as 'the most flattering workout pants, ever.'"
Gelberg credits Devigi's success to her team of people that includes her daughter, mother, and suppliers who care about the business' success. By working with a local cut and sew factory, her suppliers are partners dedicated to making the business prosper. "What's more important, I am delighted to offer a fine product that makes customers proud of how they look," she said.
