Detroit Michigan Works! Reveals Mobile Unit 'Workforce One' - Sept. 28th

EMPLOYMENT AND SELF-SUFFICIENCY SOLUTIONS HIT THE ROAD IN THE MOTOR CITY

DETROIT, Sept. 27 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Detroit Workforce Development Department, a Michigan Works! Agency and the Detroit One Stop Service Centers will reveal the latest engine engaged in the Motor City's move to assist the unemployed and underemployed: the Detroit Michigan Works! One Stop Service Center Mobile Unit, Workforce One.

Workforce One will be revealed Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. during a ribbon-cutting ceremony which is hosted by Focus: HOPE located at 1400 Oakman Boulevard in Detroit. (Media Tour and Preview will take place at 9:00 a.m.) Workforce One is a multi-functional, mobile training facility that brings job search and employment opportunities directly to the community. The mobile unit is 38-feet in length and 13.5-feet in height with the same amenities and services that are available to clients and partners at any of the four One Stop Service Center locations.  

As unemployment and challenging economic conditions continue to become moving targets, the Detroit One Stop Service Centers, operated by Ross Innovative Employment Solutions, will put the solutions on the road in the Motor City to lead trends to self-sufficiency and economic empowerment.

The mission of the Detroit One Stop Service Centers is to promote the economic self-sufficiency of Detroit residents and to provide qualified workers to local employers through the delivery of cost-effective, high quality employment, training and education services in partnership with businesses, community-based organizations, educational institutions and governmental agencies. The One Stop delivery system is a comprehensive workforce delivery system and includes more than 26 services provided in conjunction with our partner agencies.
