LEAWOOD, Kan., July 17, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Today ValueHealth CEO Carl King announced the hiring of Derek Bridges as President of Benefit Management. Mr. Bridges will replace outgoing Benefit Management President Denise Wilkens and will be responsible for providing strategic leadership for the company and for ensuring that company financial objectives are met. Mr. Bridges has also been named President of Payor, Employer and Consultant Channels for ValueHealth; in this role he will oversee Vice Presidents and Sales Directors of market development within the channel development organization for ValueHealth and ensure strategic management, employee development and sales success with targeted payors, employers and brokers. In both roles, Mr. Bridges will report directly to Mr. King.
Mr. Bridges previously served as CEO of Next Level HealthCare, where he advised large health plans and health systems on value-based care solutions and consulted and invested in technology firms that could improve patient outcomes at a lower cost.
Bridges previously served as a senior executive for several of the largest health insurance companies in the U.S., including Anthem, where he doubled profitability of a $1B+ business unit. Bridges launched the Midwest Medicare Advantage markets as COO of Universal American, now WellCare. As CEO of Delta Dental of Kansas, he doubled the revenue and membership in 3 years and was inducted into the Balanced Scorecard Hall of Fame. Bridges started his career at Aetna, where he created the fastest growing managed care organization in the country.
