Demizine Technologies' Green Tech Allows You to Live Indefinitely on Your Pee and Poop Water
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, July 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Most people cringe at the thought of drinking water extracted from body waste. People have a somewhat irrational fear of urine, but every glass of water you drink contains it.
Contrary to popular belief, urine from a healthy person is in fact sterile. It's unlikely that you'll be using your urine to clean a cut arm in the near future, however, you're already drinking recycled urine every day — whether you realize it or not.
"The concept of clean water is an interesting misconception," explains Sandra Williams, spokesperson for green tech start up Demizine Technology Inc. (www.demizinetechnology.com). "People are obsessed with drinking something they call clean water even though countless studies on the bottled water industry show that bottled water is no better than tap water. A better question might be, 'What is actually in that tap water or where is it coming from?'
Chances are that tap water came from a lake or river near you that is teeming with life – fish, birds, bacteria, water bugs, you name it and it is living in it – and all of them are already peeing in your water every single day. In fact, as it turns out, all earth water has already been passed through the body of an animal many times before you drink it from dinosaurs to humans.
Many municipalities, such as Orange County, FL, San Diego, CA and Las Vegas, NV have been recycling wastewater back into the drinking supply for decades to meet the pressing need for more clean water. "What we do is just shrink that process down by adding energy," says CEO, Jonathan Kitzen.
Demizine is hoping to overcome this aversion with an in-house water recycling system that drastically cuts the amount of water a household needs to just a small fraction of what is normal. The company says the product is a "water-processing appliance" and is the size of a stackable washer/dryer.
It can also support a group of three people indefinitely with 2500 liters or about two days' worth for each of the three people. Incremental lost water it topped from air extraction. The company says the system is a game changer when it comes to the way we live, and where we live, because it eliminates the need for a water hook up and septic system.
Disruptive? Indeed. Gone are the hundreds of miles of pipes, the pumps, the waste sewers and the infrastructure that comes with it. Now it is possible to live on a mountain, a desert, or just about anywhere without any municipal support at all. "It is the missing link in the tiny home movement, even though that is not a market we are considering at this time," says Kitzen.
If you think it's not clean—think again. It is filtered and sanitized and monitored far more than your municipal water. Best of all, the system doesn't require you to drastically alter the kinds of appliances you use. It will work with a normal flush toilet, shower, dishwasher like other systems and it is done in a smaller footprint than any other system we are aware of.
The company expects to release the product commercially in 2018.
