Joins Maria Shriver, Anne Sweeney and Saadia Zahidi for Discussion on 21st Century Workplace
NEW YORK, April 23 /PRNewswire/ -- The evolution of the workforce in the United States and how it is changing the world of work — and how much change is still needed to ensure that businesses keep pace with the 21st century workforce and remain competitive — are issues taking center stage at the 2010 Milken Institute Global Conference on Monday, April 26, at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, California.
Cathy Benko, vice chairman and chief talent officer, Deloitte LLP; Maria Shriver, author, The Shriver Report; Anne Sweeney, co-chair, Disney Media Networks and president, Disney/ABC Television Group; and Saadia Zahidi, director and head of constituents, World Economic Forum and co-author, the Corporate Gender Gap Report, will share their insights and expertise during a dinner discussion titled "The 21st-Century Workplace: Time to Talk About What Works and What Doesn't." David Gregory, anchor, NBC's "Meet the Press," will moderate the conversation, which will take place at 6:45 p.m. PT.
Benko is responsible for attracting, developing and advancing a highly skilled and diverse workforce at Deloitte. An authority on talent strategies and transformational change to achieve exceptional results, Benko previously led Deloitte Consulting LLP's high-technology industry practice and directed Deloitte's award-winning Women's Initiative. She has been recognized as one of the "25 Most Influential Consultants" and a "Frontline Leader" by Consulting magazine and received its inaugural "Leadership Achievement Award."
Benko is co-author of upcoming book, "The Corporate Lattice: Achieving High Performance in the Changing World of Work." She previously published the best-seller, "Mass Career Customization: Aligning the Workplace with Today's Nontraditional Workforce" and "Connecting the Dots: Aligning Projects with Objectives in Unpredictable Times". Benko's ideas and insights have been featured in The New York Times, BusinessWeek, The Wall Street Journal, TIME and other national media outlets.
In 2009, Deloitte was named the "model employer" in conjunction with "The Shriver Report: A Woman's Nation Changes Everything" for providing innovative career-life integration initiatives that allow both the organization and its workforce — women and men — to reach their goals.
