NEW YORK, March 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Deloitte announces a groundbreaking collaboration with the Northern New England Accountable Care Collaborative (NNEACC) to deliver services, technology, analytics and insights to enable value-based care.
Deloitte and NNEACC will offer a solution called "Insight" that will help U.S. health care providers make the shift to a health system defined by population health and risk-based contracts.
Founded by Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health System, Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems, Fletcher Allen Health Care, MaineHealth and Dartmouth College, NNEACC is a value-based care collaborative providing leading solutions that enable health providers to manage population health. Since its inception, NNEACC has been leveraging ConvergeHEALTH by Deloitte's data management and analytics solutions to support its framework for accountable care.
"NNEACC's mission is to support providers as they move from volume to value-based reimbursement models. Our strategic collaboration with Deloitte represents the culmination of a three-year plan for analytics, tools and services developed 'by providers, for providers,'" said NNEACC's Chief Executive Officer David Wennberg, M.D. "Combining NNEACC's analytics and decades of experience in value-based care, population health and clinical transformation with ConvergeHEALTH's Insight product offers health care providers solutions that can reliably help meet the 21st century demands to deliver value-based care."
The combined offering leverages ConvergeHEALTH's data integration, analytic and workflow technologies with NNEACC's proprietary predictive models, stratification algorithms and outcomes research capabilities to help improve population health management outcomes, reduce unwarranted variation in health care, improve care coordination, leverage evidence-based guidelines and manage clinical and financial risk.
"The platform is designed to integrate and analyze EMR, claims, HIE and operational data to enable member health systems to coordinate patient care, drive provider performance improvements and engage patients to achieve the health care triple aim of better care, better health and at lower cost," said Jason Girzadas, national managing director of life science and health care, Deloitte Consulting LLP.
Doug Beaudoin, principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP's national managing director of health care providers, said, "The shift from volume to value where we will be incented to drive recovery and wellness versus treating an episode of illness will be a fundamental change driving the need for integrated, longitudinal insights and intellect – our ConvergeHEALTH and NNEACC collaboration will address that critical need."
"To create a truly sustainable health system requires a focus on three things: population health, value-based care and new payment models that move away from fee-for-service, and NNEACC is core to this approach," said Dr. James N. Weinstein, president and chief executive officer of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health System and NNEACC's chairman of the board. "The collaboration with Deloitte powerfully addresses all three issues, making it possible for providers to succeed in managing the health of their populations in a payment environment that rewards quality, coordination, efficiency and lower cost."
The NNEACC solution is already operating in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine via a SaaS-based model that facilitates benchmarking and collaboration among its members to identify and implement best practices for care delivery. The solution is offered as both a subscription and on premise option for health systems.
"Provider health systems understand the operating and implementation risks inherent in the industry's transition from volume to value-based care. The Insight platform can significantly reduce these risks," said Wennberg. "This solution addresses these risks by providing a platform specifically designed for providers. Combined with the deep transformational services of Deloitte and NNEACC's years of accountable-care experience, health systems will be better able to deliver on the promise of value-driven health care."
