Delaware Charter School Supporters to Celebrate National School Choice Week with Art Contest
WILMINGTON, Del., Jan. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Wilmington community has planned a student art show on Friday, January 30, 2015, to celebrate National School Choice Week.
The second annual "Evening of the Arts" will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in The Atrium at The Community Education Building. The contest will include submissions from numerous area charter schools that highlight school choice, including visual art, writing, and more.
More than 150 people are expected to attend the event, which will be hosted by The Delaware Charter Schools Network, Kuumba Academy, Academia Antonia Alonso, and Odyssey Charter School.
"National School Choice Week celebrates the right for every family to choose their child's education," said Kendall Massett, Executive Director of the Delaware Charter Schools Network. "Charter schools represent an important piece of school choice both locally and nationally."
National School Choice Week (January 25 – 31, 2015) will be America's largest-ever celebration of opportunity in education.
