HOUSTON, Aug. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- HCA Gulf Coast Division President, Troy A. Villarreal, today announced the appointment of David S. Wagner as chief executive officer of Pearland Medical Center effective August 8, 2016.
A 29-year veteran of hospital administration, Wagner has served as the vice president of facilities management and support services at the Saint Francis Health System since 2011. Saint Francis Health System is a five hospital health system with 1,300 licensed beds and more than 900 affiliated physicians in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Prior to this role, Wagner served as vice president of Saint Francis Health System's home care and support services division. Before that, Wagner served as administrator of CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital in Beeville, Texas for eight years. Additionally, he served as the assistant executive director of the General Health Services Corporation and administrator of patient care services at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas; and vice president of operations at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Texas. He began his career as a nursing assistant at St. Luke's Lutheran Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.

Wagner earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Texas A&M University and a master's of science in healthcare administration at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. A fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and a former member of the Texas Hospital Association, Wagner was active in the Rotary Club, March of Dimes, and United Way in Oklahoma.
