DanceOn Partners With Coca-Cola And (RED) Campaign For Special Episode Of "D-trix Presents Dance Showdown"
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- On the heels of the Season Three premiere of "D-trix Presents Dance Showdown" (www.youtube.com/user/DanceOn), DanceOn is proud to announce a partnership with Coca-Cola and (RED) to inspire people to participate in a global dance movement with the goal of helping to end mother to child transmission of HIV by 2015.
During the week of November 11, Dance Showdown will feature a special Coca-Cola Mini Challenge that brings the cast to the streets of Los Angeles to encourage fans to get moving in support of the fight against AIDS. Harry Shum Jr. (Mike Chang on "Glee") will be on-hand to provide inspiration and help teach the Dance Showdown cast a special dance move to use in the challenge. Fans can show their support by uploading videos of themselves dancing to YouTube or Instagram, using #CokeREDMoves in the title or as the hashtag. For the first 1,000 videos submitted, Coca-Cola will make a donation to the Global Fund which can buy life-saving medicine for someone living with HIV.
As with its first two seasons, "D-trix Presents Dance Showdown" unites the biggest YouTube sensations – musicians, comedians, gamers, beauty experts and others – with professional dance partners to cross over into the world of dance, learning challenging routines and performing for the judges and viewers votes. Celebrity judges Joey Fatone, Laurieann Gibson and Kassem G will provide honest and sometimes tear-inducing feedback on each performance throughout the 11-week season, which will be comprised of mini-challenges and the chance for additional cash prizes for each. Challenges include condensed time for learning complex moves, fan participation in man-on-the-street type challenges, and on-the-spot performances which crank up the showdown factor of "Dance Showdown."
