DALLAS, March 18 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Chamber is pleased to announce it has engaged the well-known international business consulting firm, The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) to conduct a strategic planning process to be completed mid-2010.
DRC president, James C. Oberwetter said, "Times have changed significantly since we conducted our last strategic plan and 2010 brings a new decade of challenges and opportunities, and the DRC needs a new strategic plan."
"We are exceptionally pleased to have the opportunity to conduct this study in partnership with BCG, such a renowned and credible management consulting firm. We could not be more excited about the opportunities this process will bring," Oberwetter added.
This effort will be led by Tom Lutz, J Puckett and Pattabi Seshadri - partners in the Dallas office of The Boston Consulting Group. "We are excited to be able to help the Dallas Regional Chamber on this important effort. We have done similar work at other chambers of commerce and look forward to leveraging our expertise here as well. Through these efforts, we hope to continue to drive growth in the Dallas region," said The Boston Consulting Group senior partner and managing director Thomas L. Lutz.
Chamber chairman, David Corrigan said the Futures Committee, a group of 25 key business leaders established to help lead the effort, would be led by Peter Beck, chairman of the Beck Group and a former chairman of the chamber. Corrigan said, "Peter Beck understands the nature of our chamber and the changing times. He knows of the integral part it has and will play in the development and progress of Dallas and the region."
Oberwetter said, "The objectives of the project are direct. The process will assess the current vision, mission and effectiveness of the DRC value proposition, identify a range of 'looking forward options,' and then use the new strategic plan to give us direction for the next several years."
The multi-faceted process, including surveys of members and non-members is expected to last four to six months. Upon completion and acceptance by the Board, the Chamber will begin implementation of the plan which is expected to include customized value proposition across various member segments.
