Daisy Daisy Announces Empire City Hackathon 2017

NEW YORK, June 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Daisy Daisy Digital is offering NYC high school students the opportunity to receive more than $50,000 in development, design and strategy at no cost to transform their startup dream into a live product.

RULES:

There are only two rules:

• Entry is only open to residents of NYC's five boroughs who are currently enrolled in high school. There is no age or citizenship requirement.
• Ideas can span any industry or platform. Mobile. Wearables. Web. IoT. Games. Be creative. We love hearing about spaces that we have no experience in.

PERKS:

Design - The Daisy design team will consult with the winner to design a beautiful, professional application and teach them the fundamentals of application design at no cost.

Development - Daisy engineers will architect and code the winner's application at no cost while teaching them the fundamentals of software architecture.

Strategy - Daisy will help the winner to navigate the legal, accounting and regulatory overhead of getting their app in front of users.

Advisory - Daisy will advise the winner on an ongoing basis as they transform their project from an app into a business.

HOW TO APPLY:

Once applicants have read all the rules above, Daisy invites them to apply by emailing a 200 - 500 word essay explanation of themselves, their background, their idea and their motivation for building it.

Applications must be received by September 1, 2017 and can be submitted in English or Spanish. Once the application essay is ready, applicants can send it to [email protected].
