BOSTON, Sept. 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- CyberX, provider of the most widely-deployed industrial cybersecurity platform for continuously reducing ICS risk, today announced the addition of three cybersecurity veterans to its leadership team. The new executives will support growing demand for the company's technology and managed security services, while positioning the company for scalability as the market continues to expand.
"Recent cyberattacks against industrial and critical infrastructure organizations — including WannaCry, NotPetya, CrashOverride, Dragonfly 2.0 and APT33 — have raised visibility in the boardroom about how sophisticated malware and APTs can disrupt production operations and have a material impact on the bottom line," said Omer Schneier, CEO and co-founder of CyberX.
Added Nir Giller, CTO and co-founder of CyberX: "This talented group of executives will help us better support the significant and growing demand for more robust industrial control system (ICS) and OT security, which we're currently seeing across all industrial verticals including pharmaceuticals, energy, manufacturing, chemicals, oil & gas, water, and transportation/logistics."
The CyberX platform addresses the need for stronger industrial security by delivering continuous threat monitoring and asset discovery for ICS/SCADA networks, leveraging its deep understanding of industrial protocols combined with ICS-specific behavioral analytics and ICS-specific threat intelligence. Unique in the industry, it also provides continuous risk assessments including predicting the most likely attack vector chains targeting critical ICS/SCADA assets, thereby enabling proactive mitigation before vulnerabilities can be exploited. As a result, industrial organizations can now implement multi-layered Active Cyber Defense strategies that move far beyond basic perimeter-layer security such as firewalls.
CyberX's new executive appointments include:
Joe DiPietro, VP of Customer Success
Joe DiPietro has over 20 years of both leadership and hands-on experience with enterprise security leaders including Algosec, IBM, Guardium, and Checkpoint Software. At Algosec, he established and led the company's technical sales engineering function for the Americas and was later promoted to lead the function worldwide. At IBM, he was director of sales engineering and IBM InfoSphere Data Governance Center of Excellence Leader. He previously led worldwide sales engineering for Guardium, which was acquired by IBM for $220 million. Prior to IBM, he was Checkpoint's first sales engineer and later rose to the position of Director of Systems Engineering. Joe holds a Master's Degree in Computer Science, a Masters of Arts degree, and a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Buck Watia, VP of Business Development
As VP of Business Development at CyberX, Buck is focused on global strategic alliances including technology and channel partnerships. He brings more than 15 years of security leadership experience ranging from early-stage startups to publicly-traded companies. Prior to CyberX he led corporate and business development at Rapid7. Before Rapid7, Buck held leadership positions at HP, ArcSight, VeriSign and iDefense where he led teams across engineering, products, sales, marketing, and business development. Buck has been involved with several successful exits including through acquisition and IPO.
