PAR, an independent newsletter of the public accounting industry, noted that Crowe's "net gain of 24 SEC entities was tops among the firms analyzed" and "Crowe posted across-the-board net gains in revenue audited, assets audited and audit fees gained for the year, according to PAR's analysis of data compiled by AuditAnalytics.com."
"This recognition from PAR further strengthens the national reputation of our public company audit practice," said Charles Allen, Crowe Horwath CEO. "Crowe has always maintained a well-regarded public company audit practice, so we appreciate this national acknowledgement."
PAR also noted that Crowe's financial institutions practice played a role in its 2009 success. The firm gained eight SEC audit clients that are commercial banks or savings institutions, four of which have audited assets of more than $1 billion.
Additionally, the Jan. 31 article stated that:
- Crowe had 33 SEC audit wins for the year, and the firm's net gain of 24 SEC entities led all other firms.
- Crowe was one of only two firms that posted positive net gains in SEC entities for the full year.
