CrowdFlower unveils new AI and Human-in-the-Loop solution built using Microsoft Cortana Intelligence Suite
SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- CrowdFlower, the essential human-in-the-loop platform for data science teams, today announced its AI product is built using Microsoft's Cortana Intelligence Suite through its Azure Machine Learning cloud service. This new module in the CrowdFlower platform puts the adoption of AI for business processes, such as support ticket classification or sentiment analysis, within the realm of possibility for any company with a digital presence.
"We're thrilled to be offering our AI product in partnership with Microsoft Cortana Intelligence Suite," said Robin Bordoli, chief executive officer, CrowdFlower. "With the Azure Machine Learning offering, the CrowdFlower platform now allows data science teams to train and deploy machine learning models with humans-in-the-loop. This is an exciting step toward making AI a business reality rather than a science project."
Lukas Biewald, founder and chief data scientist, CrowdFlower said, "The industry has been having the wrong debate about human-versus-machine intelligence. For example, the recent press coverage of AlphaGo competing against the professional Go player Lee Sedol was characterized as machine versus human. This is not what's actually happening. This was actually a triumph of humans coupled with machine learning versus a single human. We strongly believe this is the future of viable AI. The winning strategy is to combine humans and machines together at scale, not to replace humans with machines."
Joseph Sirosh, corporate vice president, Data Group, Microsoft Corp. said, "Blending human intelligence and machine learning through cloud APIs is a revolutionary new capability for enhancing accuracy and predictive power. By integrating the CrowdFlower platform and Azure Machine Learning, CrowdFlower AI has birthed a cloud service for developers to easily add sophisticated intelligence into their applications."
With AI, CrowdFlower customers can now create machine learning models easily using human-labeled training data from within the CrowdFlower platform. These models can then be deployed using humans-in-the-loop for when the model's predictions fall below a customer-defined confidence threshold.
