REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., March 29, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Oracle announced that Croatian Grocery Leader Konzum has implemented Oracle Retail Planning and Optimization solutions to promote business operations efficiency, enable smarter decision making, enhance collaboration with suppliers and improve alignment with the store network. Konzum is part of Agrokor, whose retail group has 2.000 stores in Adriatic region to be the dominant grocery retailer.
Part of this growth is a result of acquisitions which have led to the development of a diversified store network. Managing inventory levels for many different store layouts, means having to deal with a lot of exceptions on a regular basis. Since the exceptions are part of the daily operations, Konzum decided to embrace the issue and address it in a systematic manner.
Konzum is a long-time customer who leverages Oracle Retail Merchandise Operations Management, and Supply Chain Management solutions to drive operational efficiencies and enable growth. Recently, Konzum extended the partnership with extending the use of the Oracle Retail Predictive Application Server with a bespoke solution called Replenishment Parameters Management (REPAMA) developed by Oracle PartnerNetwork Gold Level sponsor Sigmia. The REPAMA enables direct management of the inventory levels in the system from the right team, rather than communicating required changes via error prone channels.
"The implementation of the REPAMA on the Oracle Retail Planning platform has reduced response times, increased efficiency in decision making and reduced the overall workload through better communication," said Adrian Alajkovic, Inventory Management & Planning Director, Konzum.
"Any project engagement establishes a supplier-customer channel and always brings up the challenge to deliver real value to the customer. In partnership with Oracle, REPAMA has addressed this challenge recursively by delivering value to Konzum's consumers. Achieving channel coordination is always a win-win strategy," said Argiris Mokios, Supply Chain Solutions Director, Sigmia.
Back by the power of the Oracle Retail Merchandising and Supply Chain solution, this extension enables a case of real Vendor Managed Inventory in 700+ stores with the Oracle Retail Predictive Server extension on Planning and Optimization. Now Konzum is able to directly engage suppliers into managing inventory levels.
"Empowerment means giving authority, control and responsibility to the teams who are require information to act. Modern retailing transforms the user experience, infuses science into persona based dashboards," said Ray Carlin, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Oracle Retail. "Retailing must become more intuitive and seamless, and technology can be leveraged better execute strategic goals."
