Critical Infrastructure Protection and Impact of Cyber Growth Emerge as Top Priorities for Telcordia
New Group President, Brent Greene, Brings Decades of Leadership and Expertise in National Security, Communications, Cyber Integration and Emergency Preparedness
PISCATAWAY, N.J., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- In today's growing cyber world, where a nation's vital communications and utilities infrastructure can be brought down in minutes by hostile attacks, the need for critical infrastructure protection (CIP) and advanced cyber security is at an all-time high. Instrumental in the development of the architecture of the U.S. communications infrastructure, Telcordia and its Advanced Technology Solutions (ATS) group have been focused in these areas for decades. The addition of industry veteran Brent Greene as the new group president for ATS -- with his deep expertise in security, communications, cyber integration, critical infrastructure and emergency preparedness -- promises to further strengthen the company's industry leadership position.
"As a company, we have been heavily engaged with the industry dynamics around mobile broadband, IP convergence, cyber security and ensuring the protection of critical infrastructure elements, and that is why we had to find the right fit for the head of our Advanced Technology Solutions group," said Mark Greenquist, President and CEO of Telcordia. "In Brent Greene, we found the ideal combination of communications and security expertise and real-life experience with integrating IP broadband, wireless, wireline, satellite and radio systems for civil and federal government applications."
Since 2007, Greene was Vice President, National Security Communications, and Director, Cyber Integration, for Northrop Grumman Information Systems (NGIS) Civil Systems, where he was responsible for advancing public safety initiatives, wireless interoperability, cyber security, smart grid, industrial control systems security, IT coordination and critical infrastructure protection business. Prior to NGIS, Greene held executive management positions with Lucent Technologies and Bell Labs Innovations, and the Department of Homeland Security. During this time, Greene helped create and drive the President's Commission on Critical Infrastructure Protection, often referred to as the "cyber commission."
"Telcordia's long-standing reputation for being a top performer in a wide range of communications areas and getting the job done right while advancing the company's government and cyber initiatives were key factors in my decision to join this innovative research powerhouse," said Greene. "There is no doubt that mobility and mobile broadband will forever change the world as we know it, and my top priority will be to draw on our collective experience to further strengthen the company's cyber security and CIP business, especially in the federal sector, to protect this country's vital interests."
