Crawford & Company Names Alice Edwards Senior Vice President, GTS Business Development
ATLANTA, June 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Insurance industry executive Alice Edwards has joined Crawford & Company (NYSE: CRDA; CRDB), the world's largest independent provider of claims management solutions, in the new role of senior vice president of Global Technical Services (GTS) – Business Development in the Company's U.S. Property & Casualty unit.
In her new position, Edwards will drive new business development efforts in GTS with a specific focus on the London Market, brokers and program business. Also named an executive general adjuster, she will manage and handle select GTS losses. Based in Atlanta, she reports to L. Martin Fagan, senior vice president of marketing and business development for U.S. Property & Casualty, and also will work closely with the GTS team in the Americas.

Edwards started her career at Lloyd's of London, spending eight years in the U.K. insurance market. In 1990, she moved to Jakarta, Indonesia, where she worked for six years in the booming Asian insurance market, handling complex manufacturing, infrastructure and construction accounts.
Edwards has been in the United States since 1995, working on complex issues for multinational and national clients. In 2002, she joined Willis HRH's Complex Property Practice as a technical expert. She has extensive experience in wording interpretation and claims handling for real estate, construction, manufacturing and retail clients, and was responsible for managing catastrophic claims arising out of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the 2004/2005 hurricanes for many of Willis's largest national clients.
In 2007, Edwards moved from her technical role into a position as a client advocate, concentrating on development and management of comprehensive insurance programs for Willis clients with complex exposures.
Edwards is an associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters in the U.K. In 2006, she was named as a Woman to Watch by Business Insurance magazine in its annual awards program, which recognizes up-and-coming women in the insurance industry.
