'Smart Newsletters' Will Offer Customized, One-Stop Local News for Business Leaders
DETROIT, Nov. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Crain Communications today launches personalized digital business publications in nine new markets: Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Silicon Valley and Washington D.C.
Under the tagline, "Business News Just Got Personal," each new brand will carry the company name and market, such as Crain's Boston or Crain's Silicon Valley.
These nine new brands expand the company's mission to provide one-stop news sources for C-suite executives and business decision makers.
"For nearly 100 years, Crain has been the leading source of business news for top executives in the U.S. and abroad," says KC Crain, executive vice president and director of corporate operations at Crain Communications. "The launch of these new brands allows Crain the ability to provide its audience with daily and breaking business news in our readers' hometowns."
The new city business brands feature smart email newsletters that customize content based on reader preferences and engagement. Daily content includes a mix of curated local and industry business news, articles from Crain brands and new, original content, including a series titled "If I Knew Then…," featuring interviews with local industry leaders.
"This national expansion of the Crain brand represents a first in our company's history in terms of scale and innovation," says Crain. "While the way we deliver content continues to evolve, what remains the same is our commitment to giving readers the news that is most important to them."
KC Crain has appointed Sean Flanagan as publisher of the new brands. Formerly the vice president and worldwide publisher of National Geographic, Flanagan brings to Crain Communications a proven track record of driving strategic and profitable growth for global media technology organizations. He has previously held positions at Maxim, Reader's Digest and Men's Health.
"I'm excited to be a part of Crain's history of innovation," Flanagan said. "These new brands will showcase our cutting-edge technology and solidify Crain's position as a global information leader."
Crain Communications is adding to its established city brands in New York, Chicago, Detroit and Cleveland.
