"We are asking users to match up against our political experts and rate the seats they think are safe for Republicans, safe for Democrats or somewhere in between," said Scott Montgomery, director of consumer publishing at CQ-Roll Call. "On Election Day, we will post the results of how visitors fared in deciding which candidates are coming to Washington."
The game can be found at cqpolitics.com. Visitors to the site don't have to register to play, and they can vote on any House or Senate race in the country. They can cast a rating only once per day in any single race.
To guide their thinking, users can see how each race is rated by two of the most highly respected voices in the race - rating business: the team of CQ-Roll Call Politics, as well as Stuart Rothenberg, editor of the Rothenberg Political Report. Players also can read the brief analysis by the CQ-Roll Call team on what's happening in the race before choosing their rating.
"The mission behind launching Your Turn: Rate the Races is to allow visitors to our site, who tend to know a lot about politics, to share their views on the 2010 midterm races," continued Montgomery. "Our political team will provide valuable and relevant information to the site throughout the election season."
