Cox Communications And Bright House Networks Partner To Bring The Nation's Largest WiFi Network To Even More Customers
Cox Communications and Bright House Networks High Speed Internet customers now enjoy access to thousands more WiFi hotspots across the U.S. including Florida and Virginia
ATLANTA and ORLANDO, Fla. , Dec. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Cox Communications and Bright House Networks announced today that most customers with High Speed Internet service can now enjoy even more access to CableWiFi, the nation's largest WiFi network, made possible by a collaboration of cable companies. With the integration of Cox and Bright House Networks hotspots, customers may now access free WiFi in additional areas including Orlando, Tampa, Daytona, Northern Virginia, Connecticut and Indiana. The new hotspots are strategically located to serve areas where customers are most likely to benefit from Internet access while away from home, such as restaurants, malls, sports arenas, parks and beaches, and join thousands of existing hotspot locations available in markets such as NYC, San Francisco, Boston, Washington D.C., Philadelphia and Chicago.
"Cox continues to extend our customers' access to WiFi hotspots across the country, delivering information and entertainment anytime, anywhere," said Kelly Williams, vice president, product strategy and management at Cox Communications. "We not only provide our customers access to more than 200,000 WiFi hotspots throughout the country, we also make it convenient and simple for customers to locate and log on to these hotspots."
"Our WiFi hotspots enable our customers to enjoy fast and free wireless Internet access while on the go for business or pleasure at thousands of locations," said Leo Cloutier, senior vice president, corporate strategy and business development, Bright House Networks. "Bright House Networks is dedicated to keeping its customers connected, and we are pleased to continue to make additional WiFi hotspots available."
About Cox WiFi Access
CoxWiFi and Cable WiFi® are free for Cox customers with Preferred, Premiere or Ultimate service. Cox offers multiple ways to find a WiFi hotspot. Customers who are already in a WiFi hotspot can look for the "CoxWiFi" or "CableWiFi" network name on their WiFi-enabled devices, and use their Cox username and password to log into the hotspot. Or, Cox customers who are looking for WiFi access can go to www.cox.com/hotspots and enter their current location to find nearby hotspots. Icons on the map indicate whether the hotspots are inside or outside, so there are no surprises when customers arrive at the hotspot location. Users can also click on a WiFi icon on the map or download the Cox Connect app for iPhone and Android devices and immediately access directions to or from the specific WiFi hotspot address. Once a user has logged into a CableWiFi hotspot, his or her wireless device will automatically recognize and logon to other CableWiFi hotspots for one full year.
