Cox Charities 2014-2015 Grant Cycle Now Open
Deadline for Submission is November 7
CHESAPEAKE, Va., Oct. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Cox Communications Virginia announced the opening of its 2014-2015 Cox Charities grant cycle today. Applications for funding will be accepted until November 7, with awards announced in February 2015. Applications and information are available at www.coxcharities.org.
Cox Charities, the philanthropic arm of Cox Communications, supports non-profit organizations focused on youth education programs throughout Virginia. Now in its fifth year, the program serves Cox communities in the Hampton Roads, Northern Virginia and Roanoke service areas.
"Over the last five years, Cox Charities has awarded more than $600,000 in grants to deserving non-profit organizations across the Commonwealth," said Gary McCollum, senior vice president and region manager for Cox Virginia. "Through our philanthropy, we continue our commitment to providing assistance in the areas of youth and education, and deepening our impact on children's ability to reach their highest potential."
To receive funding, non-profit groups must serve communities within Cox's Hampton Roads, Roanoke, Fairfax County, or Fredericksburg service areas. Eligible programs are education initiatives involving science and technology, mentoring, literacy, or other opportunities designed to advance our youth. Grants are awarded in $5,000 and $10,000 increments.
